A How-To Guide to Becoming a Full REALTOR® Member

Full Board Member – Office

If you are a broker joining our Association with no other memberships (association/board, CAR, and NAR) follow the steps below. In addition, there is a one-time, non-refundable, office set up fee of $300 in addition to the association dues and processing fees described below.

If you are currently a member of another board including CAR and NAR, you would join SCAR as a secondary member, paying the office set up fee of $300, SCAR dues and the associated processing fee. Please click here for current fee amounts, as association dues are annual and prorated monthly, and both MLS and lockbox fees are paid quarterly and may be prorated monthly.

Membership and usage of our multiple listing service (MLS) is a separate fee which is charged on a quarterly basis, as is usage of our lockbox system, Sentrilock. The following are the steps you would take to become a full or secondary member:

1. Go to “Become a Member,” download and fill out the application
2. Make a copy of your valid California Real Estate Broker's License to include with your application
3. Download and print copies of the Association By-Laws, the MLS Rules and Regulations, and the NAR Code of Ethics from this website
4. You will be asked to sign a “Receipt Form ” acknowledging receipt of these documents before your application can be completely processed; this form is available under the "Forms" link
5. Submit a check made payable to the Scenic Coast Association of Realtors for all association dues, MLS and lockbox dues
